MOVEMENT CAMP TIMELINE

Celebrating a Decade of Excellence: The 10th Anniversary International Movement Disorders Camp

The journey of the Movement Disorders Camp in Thailand began in 2015, established and organized by the Chulalongkorn Centre of Excellence for Parkinson’s Disease and Related Disorders (ChulaPD). Founded by Professor Roongroj Bhidayasiri, ChulaPD stands as a pioneering institution dedicated to advancing medical treatment and research in Parkinson’s disease and related disorders, driving innovation both nationally and internationally.

The primary goal of the camp has always been to provide an intensive two and a half – day course offering a comprehensive review of movement disorders for clinical practitioners, neurologists, neurology residents, and movement disorder fellows. What truly sets this conference apart is its unique “edutainment” philosophy. This engaging format combines essential lectures on basic phenomenology, a practical case-based approach, and updates on the latest knowledge, all culminating in our celebrated Video Night Tournament. This creates a vibrant atmosphere where participants can learn effectively while networking with colleagues.

Garnering significant interest from both local and international delegates, the camp made its celebrated return to a full onsite format in 2023 after the COVID-19 pandemic. The 8th Movement Disorders Camp, held in Pattaya, marked a major milestone as our first truly international edition. We were thrilled to welcome neurologists from across the region, including Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Laos. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with participants praising the seamless blend of knowledge sharing and the fun, engaging atmosphere of our unique “edutainment” concept.
